Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association fall championship season is well underway and one of the busiest weekends in the calendar year will be November 5 – 6, 2021.

Provincial semi-final football championship games and girls’ conference volleyball playoffs will all be contested. Five football classifications will advance teams to the provincial championships while girls’ volleyball teams will vie for the right to advance to regional play.

Over the course of the weekend, approximately 2900 student-athletes will represent 160 volleyball teams in 30 tournaments and 20 football teams in the 10 semi-final championship games.

Recognizing the importance and significance of Remembrance Day as a time to honor our veterans, the SHSAA continues their positive relationship with the Royal Canadian Legion, Saskatchewan Command.

Over the course of two weekends, since the National Poppy Campaign began, over 3000 poppy stickers provided by the Legion will have been displayed proudly by student-athletes during competition. The importance of sport in our schools and communities is an example of the opportunities provided to youth through the service of our veterans.

This weekend, all host schools are encouraged to plan an observance of Remembrance Day and free admission will be provided to members of the Legion attending SHSAA events.
