Dalmeny firefighters extinguished a fire at the base of a power pole near the intersection of Range Road 3065 and Township Road 390 at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5. An alert landowner alerted firefighters, who then called in SaskPower. When it was determined there was no danger of the powerline arcing, the fire was safely extinguished. The cause of the fire, which fortunately was confined to the base of the pole, was undetermined.
