The provincial financial watchdog agency is alerting consumers they may be eligible to claim compensation from a former Martensville-based used-vehicle dealership.
The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) issued a news release on Wednesday, September 29 informing consumers that the bond issued to MacNeil Motors Inc. (DBA MacNeil Motors) has been demanded and paid.
A bond is a licensing requirement for vehicle dealers in Saskatchewan. It is a sum of money that a bonding company agrees to pay if the licensee does not follow specific rules outlined in The Consumer Protection and Business Practices Act.
Consumers who have suffered a financial loss as a result of their vehicle transaction with MacNeil Motors may be eligible to file a claim for compensation.
To determine claim eligibility, consumers should gather supporting documentation and contact the Consumer Protection Division via email vehicledealers@gov.sk.ca or phone 306-787-5550. Claims must be submitted by October 20, 2021.
