The Junior PLYR Cup, organized by the Legends Golf Club, featured competitive play August 26, which saw the team of Alex Swinnerton and Jackson Wingert capture the title for the second consecutive year.
Both golfers hail from Saskatoon, and they won the championship flight after recording a score of 65 (33, 32).
There were a total of 68 golfers that competed in teams of two. For the first nine holes, teams played a best-ball format, while it was a scramble format for the back-nine.
It was a competitive championship flight as the team of Will Blake (Regina) and Tommy Danielson (Saskatoon) finished a stroke behind the champs after recording a score of 66 (35,31).
Myles Johnson (Martensville) and Jagger Bitz (Warman) was the top team in the first flight after recording a score of 70 (34, 35); and the Saskatoon team of Griffen Blanch and Brady Guenther just missed out on that top spot with a score of 71 (36, 35). Brothers Jackson and Carter Pelletier, who are from Warman, rounded out the top three after posting a score of 73 (37, 36).
In the second flight, the Martensville team of Brayden Skene and Blake Derksen, and the team of Shayna Bloom and Jaslyn Schuler finished with identical scores of 77, however, the former was awarded first while the later was runner-up.
The Saskatoon team of Grace Odnokon and Sienna Taylor rounded out the top three after shooting an 80 (42, 38).
Warman golfers Sawyer Scheidt and Charlie Evans had the top spot in the third flight with a score of 90 (45, 45). Runner-up in the flight was the Regina team of
Sung Park and Natalia Sundbo after shooting a 93 (49,44).
The competition featured golfers ages eight to 18, as they were from the Warman and surrounding area, as well as Saskatoon and other communities in the province.
