One week after lifting a seven week long fire ban that began April 7 and ended May 25, the RM of Corman Park implemented a new fire ban on Tuesday, June 1.
A statement posted on the RM of Corman Park website indicates the new fire ban is due to a return a extremely dry conditions. The fire ban is in effect until further notice at the request of the North Corman Park Fire Chiefs Association.
The fire ban applies only to residents and businesses located in the RM of Corman Park. It does not apply to urban municipalities including Warman, Martensville, Osler, Dalmeny and Langham. (For updates on urban fire bans, check each municipality’s website.)
The fire ban prohibits open flame fires and requires all outdoor fires presently burning be extinguished. This ban includes fire pits, burning barrels, controlled burns, and fireworks, with the only exceptions being internal household fireplaces and gas-fueled equipment such as a propane barbecues or propane fire pits.
