The 2021 Warman High School (WHS) Grade 12 graduating class is inviting the community to join in the celebration on Friday, June 11.

According to Cheryl Healey, a member of the parent committee helping plan the Grade 12 grad festivities, a parade and fireworks will cap off a very special day for the graduating students.

The parade is slated to begin at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 11 when graduates assemble at the Warman Diamond Rodeo Arena parking lot. The grads, arranged in alphabetical order by last name, will then take the place of honour as they roll through the streets of Warman on floats specially decorated for the occasion.

The committee is currently seeking additional sponsors and you can sign up your business by contacting 2021gradparentscommittee@gmail.com.

Sponsorship helps cover the cost of photos, fireworks, and insurance. Sponsors on board so far include: Fairway Lawn, Automated Metal Processing, Iron Nation, and Hawks Nest Studio.

The parade route goes from the arena along Central Street to Centennial Boulevard, where it will then proceed north to the Legends Centre.
During the parade, a photographer commissioned by the parent committee will be snapping candid photos of the smiling grads and the waving crowds lining the route.

After the parade, the grads will don their graduation caps and have their formal group photograph taken outside the Legends Centre.

A spectacular fireworks display will light up the skies after dusk near the Legends Centre.

This year’s graduation celebration will follow the current COVID-19 health guidelines as outlined in Step One of the provincial government’s re-opening plan.

It may not be a wide-open party, but it’s a lot less restricted than last year
