The City of Warman has implemented a fire ban effective Monday, May 3.
In a notice posted on the city’s website, city officials say all fires within city limits are banned.
“Extreme dryness means extreme measures,” stated the notice.
The fire ban includes no burning of any materials including fire pits and chimineas.
However, barbecues and gas fire tables are exempt from the fire ban, according to the notice.
There are also no fires allowed in the city’s campgrounds or parks.
The notice advises residents and visitors to exercise cautionw ith all smoking matieral and to not toss cigarette butts carelessly.
This ban will be in place until further notice.
The fire ban in the RM of Corman Park implemented lin early April remains in place. Fire bans are also still in effect in several other municipalities incliuding the RMs of Vanscoy, Blucher, Great Bend, Mayfield, Rosthern, Duck Lake and Laird. The Village of Laird has also implemented a fire ban.
