
Warman City Councillor Kevin Tooley was appointed Deputy Mayor at a city council meeting on Monday, November 23.
As Deputy Mayor, Tooley will fill in for Warman Mayor Gary Philipchuk when called on.
The appointment was one of several made at the meeting, as newly-elected councillors took on responsibilities for various civic committees.
As Mayor, Philipchuk is an ex-officio member of all council committees, as well as Chair of City Council.
In addition to his role as Deputy Mayor, Tooley assumes the council portfolio for Recreation and Culture and is a member of the Recreation Advisory Committee and the local library board.
Councillor Richard Beck was assigned the council portfolio for Administration and Finance and is on the Planning for Growth (P4G) committee, Remembrance Day Committee, and Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee.
Councillor Tracy Johnson takes on the Environmental Health and Utilities portfolio and is a member of the Opimihaw Creek Committee and Reconciliation Committee.
Councillor Doug Ramage is responsible for the Planning, Development and transportation portfolio, and is a member of the Remembrance Day Committee, North Saskatoon Transportation Committee and Warman Street Naming Committee.
Councillor Trevor Peterson takes over the Economic Development portfolio on council, and is the council representative to the Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce.
Councillor Marshall Seed has responsibility for the Protective Services portfolio and is a member of the EMO committee, council liaison with the fire department, council representative to the Legends Golf Club, Regional RCMP Advisory Board and Saskatchewan Police Commission.
