Newly-elected members of Martensville City Council are back on the job after taking the oath of office at a special meeting on Tuesday, November 17.
Mayor Kent Muench is beginning his third term at the helm of the city after being elected by acclamation at the close of nominations in October.
He, along with councillors Tyson Chillog, Michael Cox, Darren MacDonald, Jamie Martens, Debbie McGuire and Spencer Nikkel were all sworn in at the meeting.
With five of the six incumbent City Councillors returned to office in the November 9 election, it should be a relatively seamless transition as council heads into the city’s annual budget discussions later this month.
Nikkel is the only new councillor at the table.
Council appointments to various committees, as well as basic orientation on council procedures, were on the agenda at the special meeting.
