The following is the occurrence summary for October 26 – Nov. 2.
On October 2 at 5:00 p.m. Corman Park Police received a complaint of three men hunting on private property and shooting from the roadway. Police attended and spoke with the complainant, who advised that they encountered three men in a white truck on the Merrill School Road west of Valley Road. The men were outside of the truck and one man had a long gun in his hand and was walking into a nearby fenced field and retrieving two sand cranes. The complainant stopped and engaged with the men who insisted they had done nothing wrong and left the area. Police interviewed the complainant and other witnesses and days later made contact with the suspect registered to the truck. The man, a 36-year-old resident of Saskatoon, provided police with a statement in which he conceded that they were hunting within 500 meters of an occupied building. Police issued a summons to the man for hunting within 500 meters of an occupied dwelling contrary to the Wildlife Regulations. The summons carries a voluntary payment option of $460.
On October 26, at 11:30 p.m., Corman Park Police observed a white Hyundai Accent on Grasswood Rd. near Highway 219. Police were alerted by a licence plate reader that the plates on the vehicle were expired. Police stopped the vehicle, which was being driven by an 18-year-old female resident of the Whitecap-Dakota First Nation. It was determined that the plates had been expired for about a month and the woman admitted to not having a driver’s licence. Police observed open alcohol in the vehicle and the driver admitted to alcohol consumption. The woman was read a breath demand and provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which registered a reading of WARN. Because she is under the age of 22, the woman’s licence was suspended for 60 days. She was also charged with operating a vehicle without registration, driving without a valid licence and operating a vehicle with open alcohol. Her vehicle was impounded.
On October 27 at 3:40 p.m. Corman Park Police were alerted to a call of a cube van driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 11 near Osler. No licence plate was provided to police. At 4:35 p.m. police observed a white cube van, matching the description of the complaint, southbound on Highway 11 near 71st Street, just north of the Saskatoon city limits. The vehicle was stopped by police and three people were discovered inside. The driver, a 28-year-old female resident of Saskatoon, advised that the group were delivering appliances and may have gotten lost. A check on the woman determined that she had outstanding arrest warrants for driving while suspended from Saskatoon and Warman. The woman was arrested on the warrants and released a short time later on new paperwork to appear in Provincial Court in Saskatoon.
On October 30 at 9:37 p.m., Corman Park Police observed a blue Dodge pick-up truck eastbound on Grasswood Rd. near Highway 219. The vehicle was observed swerving over the shoulder line on the pavement. The vehicle turned south on to Highway 219 and was stopped by police. The driver, a 46-year-old male resident of Regina, admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving and was asked to step out of his vehicle for an impaired driving investigation. The man’s balance was noted to be unsteady and he was arrested for impaired driving. The man was taken to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where he provided breath samples of 130 and 140 mgs%, in excess of the legal limit of 80 mgs%. The man’s licence was suspended, his truck impounded and he was later released on charges of impaired driving.
On October 31 at 2:00 a.m., Corman Park Police observed a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck northbound on the service road north of Martensville. The vehicle turned right and then sped off eastbound on to Highway 305 at excessive speeds. Police attempted to close the distance on the vehicle and determined the truck was speeding at approximately 165 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. The vehicle turned on to Township Road 390 and headed into Warman. The vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign at 1st Avenue and Central Street in Warman and was stopped just north of that location by police. The driver, a 33-year-old male resident of Warman, had the odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. The man was read a breath demand and provided a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device, which registered a reading of FAIL. The man was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Martensville RCMP Detachment where he provided two samples of breath, both at 110 mgs%, which is in excess of the legal limit of 80 mgs%. The man’s vehicle was impounded and his licence suspended and he was later released on charges of impaired driving.

The vehicle was observed to be swerving and was stopped by police. The driver, a 23-year-old resident of Saskatoon, displayed numerous signs of impairment from alcohol consumption including slurred speech and the smell of alcohol on his breath. The man admitted to drinking four bottles of beer about four hours before he started driving. The man was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Saskatoon Detachment of the RCMP where he provided two samples of breath, both measured at 220 mgs%, almost three times the legal limit.
