There will be Mayoral races in Osler, Langham, and Radisson in the November 9 municipal elections.
Incumbent Abe Quiring is seeking re-election as Mayor of Osler. He is being challenged for the position by Charlotte Goertzen.
The six seats on Osler Town Council were all filled by acclamation at the close of nominations October 8. The concillors include Susan Braun, Kelly Bueckert, Jerry Harms, Adam Humenuik, Tammy McLean and Len Turcotte.
In Langham, incumbent John Hildebrand is seeking a second term as Mayor. Another candidate, Gary Epp, is also running for the position of Mayor.
There are nine candidates, including five incumbents, for six Langham Town Council seats. They include incumbents Carol Epp, Tammy Beriault, Dione Wall, Randall Kary and Brendan Proctor. The other candidates are Peter Srok, Carey Zacharias, Brandon Booth and Dylan Smart.
Two first-time candidates have thrown their hats in the ring in the race for Mayor of Radisson: Michelle Duby and Chris Tyreman. There are 12 candidates running for six town council seats. They include: Pete Reddekopp, Shawn Mitchler, Brent Habetler, Maria Habetler, Daniel Raddatz, Robin Baker, Leona Bennett, Scott Currie, Rhonda Mason, Nathan Meaker, Diane Rimmer and Marion Fehr-Stead.
Dennis Helmuth was returned by acclamation for another term as Mayor of Rosthern.
There are seven candidates for six Rosthern Town Council positions: Colin Aebig, Dom Corbett, James Crouch, Kevin Graham, Emily Hand, Neal Isfeld and Blaine Krentz.
In Hepburn, Chris Becker was acclaimed as Mayor at the close of nominations October 8. There will be an election for the four town council positions. Candidates include: Erica Baerwald, Andrew Berg, Brent Block, Neal Mihalicz, Jesse Neary, Deidra Prosofsky and Kaelan Wall.
Incumbent Patricia Wagner was returned by acclamation to the post of Mayor of Hague October 8. There are seven candidates for six Hague Town Council seats. They include incumbents Anthony Dueck, Darryl Fehr, Dane Friesen, Alice Funk and Brent Peacock, and new candidats Terry Knippel and Curtis Unruh.
Jon Kroeker was returned by acclamation as Mayor of Dalmeny October 9. Kroeker said over the next four years, he wants to “continue the momentum” of planned growth for the community.
“I’d like to see Dalmeny capitalize on its unique warm, comfortable, family-friendly character,” said Kroeker. “We’ve made good progress on a lot of infrascture projects and we’re seeing an increase in residential building activity.”
The new Mayor of Delisle, elected by acclamation on October 8, is Cary Brunett. There are seven candidates for six town council positions in Delisle: Jason Alkestrup, Lee Cisecki, Ryan King, Billie Parker, Darcy Peakman, Deb Winder and Shelley Worth.
Incumbent Robin Odnokon was re-elected by acclamation as Mayor of Vanscoy on October 8. Four incumbent village councillors were also returned to office on October 9 by acclamation: Brent Lensen, Denise Robert, Nadine Seguin and Nelson Chovin.
There are currently no candidates for Mayor of Clavet, necessitating a second call for nominations with a deadline of October 21. However, there are five candidates seeking election to the village council: Tari-Lynne Beamish, Christine Plemel-Busby, Tallasse Crosby, Spencer Hoehn and Jennifer Samoleski.
Jamie Brandrick was acclaimed Mayor in the Village of Borden. There are six candidates looking to fill four seats on Borden Village Council. They include Tom Redhead, Cody Bradshaw, Peter Thiessen, Kandice Walker, Martin Beal and Beverly Hrynuik.
Incumbent John Bollinger was re-elected by acclamation as Mayor of Waldheim October 8. Six town councillors were also elected by acclamation. They include incumbents Ashten Hiebert, Trevor Hiebert, Sheldon Hildebrand and Gary Schultz, as well as new councillors Chris Enns and Nick Sochaski.
There is a new Mayor of Aberdeen. Ryan White was elected by acclamation on October 9. There are seven candidates competing for six town council seats in Aberdeen. They include: incumbents Tracey Grand’Maison, Jacquie Griffiths, Ben Levesque, Brian Vandenberg and Floyd Wudrick, and new candidates Denise Kominetsky and Lori Sopotyk.
The Mayor and councillor positions in Duck Lake were filled by acclamation October 8. Incumbent Mayor Donna Piche was returned to office, and the councillors are Christopher Gamble, Blake Cameron, Lauriel Magnusson and Denis Lavoie.
Kirk Walters was elected by acclamation to the position of Mayor of Laird. There will be an election for two village councillor positions. The three candidates seeking those two positions are: Bonita Brucks, Wendy Besser and Sandra Thompson.
Kim Maxwell was elected by acclamation as Reeve of the RM of Great Bend. Greg Orchard was elected by acclamation in Division 1 and Ian Hosegood was acclaimed in Division 5.
In the RM of Rosthern, Gabriel Benoit and Roger Kinzel are running for the position of Reeve; while Tom Madden and Sara Unger are candidates for Division 7 councillor.
