Laine Hruska of Warman had a standout season last winter with the Whitby Steelhawks of the Arena Lacrosse League, earning all-star honours and an award for rookie of the year.
But the 19-year-old , 220 pound goalie is looking to make an even bigger impact in the major league.
Hruska was picked 13th overall in the first round of the National lacrosse League (NLL) draft last week by the Georgia Swarm.
Hruska played two seasons with the junior Saskatchewan Swat before moving to Whitby, Ontario last winter.
