The Osler Fire Department put out a tractor fire, which was along Township Road 400

Osler Fire Department quickly put out a tractor fire on July 8, after responding to the scene around 12:15 p.m., which was along Township Road 400 just west of Range Road 3044.

According to Osler Fire Chief Jason Pauls, the operator of the tractor felt something hot when he was driving along the road.

“He turned around and there was a small fire behind him on the tractor, so he immediately stopped the tractor and got out,” Pauls said. “He didn’t have a fire extinguisher or anything like that and then with the wind it accelerated. When we got here it was fully engulfed.”

The fire didn’t spread to the field adjacent to the road and no one was injured, as it was put in a timely matter once the Osler firefighters arrived.

“We had a couple of hose lines out with water and got it under control,” Pauls said.

Once the fire was out, the firefighters had to put out the hot spots before clearing the scene.
After leaving the scene, the fire department was called back and put out the remaining hot spots with the white foam.
