The woman was questioned about alcohol consumption, which she denied, but after being read a mandatory breath demand, she advised she had consumed some beer prior to driving.
The woman provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device which resulted in a reading of FAIL. The woman was arrested and taken to the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment where she provided breath samples at 180 and 170 mgs%. While the Highways Department is there working on the overpass, the speed limit has been adjusted to 50 km/h leading up to the work area.
Over the course of the three days there were 37 charges laid, two of which were for cell phone usage. Of the 35 speeding charges, the highest recorded speed was 109 km/h which resulted in an $898 fine and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
