The following is the occurrence summary for June 1 – 8.

On June 5 at 1:14 p.m., Corman Park Police received a call of a man who was injured after he was trampled by a bull at a property near Township Road 372 and Range Road 3093. Police attended and learned that a man was at that property feeding goats for his neighbours when a stray bull got into the yard and ran over him. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated and released. Witnesses advise that the bull belongs to the owner of a nearby property and it may have escaped the pen it was being held in. Police are continuing to interview witnesses. Investigation is ongoing to determine whether or not the animal was being held in a pen which met the livestock fencing regulations.

On June 6 at 10:41 p.m., Corman Park Police attempted to stop a white Chevrolet Cobalt northbound at Highway 12 and Township Road 380 to check the driver for driver’s licence, registration and driver sobriety. When police activated the emergency lights the vehicle failed to stop and turned on to a service road. Police continued to follow the vehicle and activated the siren in addition to the emergency lights. The vehicle failed to stop and then proceeded through a stop sign without stopping and back on to the highway. The vehicle then proceeded southbound on the highway at a speed in excess of 130 km/h. Police, having obtained the licence plate number of the vehicle, and learning that it had not been reported stolen, disengaged from pursuing the vehicle and alerted the Saskatoon Police that it was travelling in their direction. It was determined that the vehicle was registered to a female resident of Prince Albert. The vehicle was later located parked in Osler by the Warman RCMP. The vehicle was impounded and the registered owner is being charged for failing to stop for police, failing to stop at a stop sign and speeding.

On June 7 at 12:39 a.m., Corman Park Police came upon a 2007 Honda Civic stopped on the side of the road at Range Road 3062 and Township Road 384, south of Dalmeny. The vehicle was missing a wheel. The officer spoke with a female occupant of the vehicle, who identified herself as the driver. The woman advised that she was driving down the road when the car began to shake and the wheel came off. The woman admitted to alcohol consumption before driving and was read a breath demand. The woman supplied a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which resulted in a reading of WARN. The woman’s licence was suspended for 72 hours and her vehicle impounded. It was learned that the woman’s licence was already suspended and the 34-year-old Saskatoon resident was also charged with driving while suspended.

On June 8 at 12:15 a.m., Corman Park Police observed a brown Chevrolet Lumina travelling northbound on Range Road 3084 at approximately 50 km/h in the 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was pulled over by police near Township Road 384 and it was observed that there was a male driver and a female passenger. The driver was questioned about alcohol consumption, which he admitted to. Police had the driver submit a sample of breath into a roadside screening device, which indicated a PASS. Further investigation revealed that the driver’s identity did not match the licence he produced. It was learned that the driver had an outstanding arrest warrant for driving while suspended. It was also determined that he was a suspended driver. The female passenger was found to be in possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage. Police conducted a further search of the vehicle for alcohol and found a bag containing a substance believed to be cocaine in the driver’s side door. The powder was later weighed at 16 grams, with an approximate street value of $1600. The driver, a 36-year-old male resident of Saskatoon, was released on a recognizance for his outstanding arrest warrant and on an appearance notice for possession of a controlled substance. The female passenger, a 21-year-old Saskatoon resident, was issued a ticket for having open alcohol in a vehicle.
