A 26-year-old man from Rosthern and a 25-year-old man from Saskatoon are facing drugs and weapons charges following a traffic stop in Saskatoon.
On June 2, 2020 at 7:30p.m., at 35th St W and Ave D N, Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspended driver. The driver was issued a ticket and both he and his passenger were sent on their way.
Prior to the vehicle being towed, SPS officers did an inventory of the vehicle and located two loaded firearms hidden under the passenger seat. The driver and passenger were arrested several blocks away without incident.
A 26-year-old male from Rosthern is now facing numerous firearms charges, breach of a firearm prohibition, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and a ticket for driving while suspended.
A 25-year-0ld male from Saskatoon is facing numerous firearms charges, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, obstruction, and identity documents.
Both men are scheduled to appear in provincial court in Saskatoon on June 4.
