Over the past several weeks, federal Conservative leadership candidate Erin O’Toole has received the support of several Saskatchewan community leaders, including a growing list of MPs and MLAs.
O’Toole receives the support of Sask. MLAs Laura Ross, Steven Bonk, Dan D’Autremont, Delbert Kirsch, Muhammad Fiaz, Lyle Stewart, Christine Tell, Greg Lawrence and David Buckingham for is Conservative Party leadership bid.
In a joint statement from the nine MLAs that support O’Toole for his leadership bid, they said that he understands the needs of Saskatchewan better than any other candidate, and has the leadership ability needed to deliver the legislative reform our industries have been asking for.
The recently announced list of MLAs point to Erin O’Toole’s agriculture, energy, and national security policy as reasons for their support and involvement. The group believes that O’Toole appreciates the importance of Saskatchewan’s agriculture and energy industries, and some of the unique challenges they have faced in the wake of this pandemic.”
They also believe that Erin will act to strengthen national unity and promote Western interests.
The MLAs also cite the need for business-friendly policy at the Federal level and cite this as their motivation for getting involved with the race. The group is confident that a Conservative government led by Erin O’Toole will provide the Federal policy we need to help Saskatchewan bounce back from this crisis and emerge stronger than ever.”
Erin O’Toole’s campaign momentum in Saskatchewan has been growing steadily, attracting the support MPs and MLAs from every region of the province. These endorsements, alongside reports of strong polling numbers from O’Toole campaign representatives, show that Erin O’Toole has a good chance at earning Saskatchewan’s support in the upcoming leadership race.
