A 25-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges following an incident in which the driver of a vehicle evaded police.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., April 30, 2020, officers were in the 300 block of Avenue S South when they spotted a suspicious vehicle. An attempt to conduct a traffic stop of the Chrysler 300 was not successful and the vehicle began to evade Police at Avenue I and 22nd Street.

Members of the Air Support Unit were able to locate the vehicle from the air and witnessed it leaving the city north toward Martensville.  Members of the RCMP were alerted and successfully disabled the vehicle with a tire deflation device. Members of the Corman Park Police assisted by utilizing the tire deflation device during this incident.

The vehicle ended up stuck in a ditch at Highway 12 and Township Road 404.

Three people were inside the vehicle. The male driver is now facing charges of Evade Police and Breach of Probation. The two women were released without criminal charges, however tickets were issued for open alcohol located in the vehicle. The ASU witnessed something being thrown from the vehicle during the incident and a scale was later located.
