A 29-year-old man  is facing several charges after a collision near Biggar  last week.

On April 21, 2020, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Biggar RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision south of Highway 51, approximately six kilometres east of Biggar, Sask.

It was reported that a truck travelling north collided with a parked car. The driver of the truck then drove into a field and fled on foot. The female driver of the car was reported to have sustained minor injuries.

29-year-old Steven Watson from Biggar, Sask., is charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon, Sec. 267(a) of the CC;
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Sec. 320.13(1) of the CC;
  • Failure to Stop After an Accident, Sec. 320.16(1) of the CC; and
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order Conditions, Sec. 145(5)(a) of the CC.

Watson is scheduled to make his first appearance in Biggar Provincial Court on August 5, 2020.
