Huskie Athletics of the University of Saskatchewan is pleased to announce a brand-new initiative from the physiotherapists at Huskie Health that will allow them to continue providing physiotherapy services during this unprecedented time.

During this time many lives and regular routines have changed. Adjusting to these changes can have an impact on the mental and physical well-being. Huskie Helath recognizes this can flare-up old injuries or present new ones. After a couple weeks of determining the best way to continue offering services, Huskie Health is excited to announce Virtual Care for all of theit clients.

Virtual Care is a remote offering of physiotherapy services that allows Huskie Health to connect with clients at a distance to evaluate and guide their rehabilitation program through the use of technology.

Taking place either over the phone or through a video call, Virtual Care will feature an initial assessment that costs $75.00 during which a plan of care will be developed, with follow-up appointments costing $50.00

“Virtual Care appointments have been a humbling experience for our Huskie Health therapists. It has been an honour to be invited into people’s homes – being introduced to their kids, seeing their art work and getting to see the exact environment where they perform the exercise we prescribe,” said Huskie Health physiotherapist Stephanie Peppler. “We’ve had extra challenges setting up exercises without having the usual equipment that we have in the clinic but we are limited only by our own creativity. It has been remarkable to be actively involved in overcoming these challenges with our clients in real time.”

To book an appointment with a Huskie Health physiotherapist email huskie.health@usask.ca or leave a voicemail at (306)-966-1027.

When the social distancing order is lifted and life in the clinic returns to normal, COVID-19 will forever change the service delivery for Huskie Health. By continuing the Virtual Care initiative in the future, Huskie Health is able to deliver services to people that otherwise would not be able to access the expertise of the physiotherapists.
