Terry Jenson was acclaimed on August 12 as the Saskatchewan Party nominated candidate for Warman in the 2028 provincial election.
Jenson was first elected as the MLA for Martensville-Warman in 2020 and re-elected in the newly created constituency of Warman in 2024. He currently serves as Minister of Social Services and Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, though he first entered cabinet in May 2024 as Minister of SaskBuilds and Procurement.
Prior to his election, Jenson spent nearly three decades in the community newspaper industry. He and his wife Angela owned the Clark’s Crossing Gazette from its establishment in 2008 until 2024, and he is a past president of both the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association and Ad Canada Media Inc. Before that, he worked on-air at radio stations in North Battleford and Prince Albert.
The Gazette reached out to Jenson following his acclamation to ask why he chose to run again for a third term in the upcoming provincial election.
Jenson said he chose to run for a variety of reasons, the first being that he is “very privileged” to be working with a team of men and women who are putting Saskatchewan first and protecting the province in a very unstable economic climate.
“Our government is working hard to protect our communities and ensure that our strong and growing economy produces benefits and the crucial investments that are being made in health care, education, and community safety,” he said.
Jenson added that as a resident of Warman for 20 years, he is proud to call the city home and will continue working hard within government to ensure the growth that the city has experienced since 2007 continues.
“I’m particularly blessed to be working alongside so many local and community leaders and I plan to keep going into 2028 and beyond,” he said.
As of August 19, the Saskatchewan Party has nominated four candidates for the 2028 provincial election.
