On September 11 at 4:45 p.m., Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) executed a traffic stop on Highway 219 near Grasswood Road. The driver was found to be wanted out of the Saskatoon Police Service and was arrested. Unstamped tobacco, and a small amount of methamphetamine was found in the vehicle. The driver displayed signs of drug impairment and submitted to a standard field sobriety test where the driver performed poorly. The driver was subsequently issued a three-day vehicle impound, three-day drivers license suspension and was released for a future court date on Saskatoon Police Services warrant.

On September 12, while conducting a check stop at the intersection of Clarence Avenue and Middleton Road, CPPS stopped a truck which had pulled into the checkstop. Police made a mandatory approved screening device demand on the driver, which resulted in a fail. The driver was transported to the Saskatoon RCMP detachment where they provided two samples of breath resulting in readings of 160 mgs% and 140 mgs%. The driver was released with a court date to attend Saskatoon Provincial Court facing charges of impaired operation of a conveyance and impaired operation of a conveyance over 80 mgs%.

On September 16 at 10:15 p.m., CPPS performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Auction Mart Road. The driver presented signs of alcohol impairment and provided a breath sample into an approved screening device roadside resulting in a warn. The driver subsequently had their drivers license suspended for 21 days and their vehicle seized for seven days as this was the driver’s second impaired driving offence within the past 10 years.

On September 13 at 7:00 a.m., CPPS received a complaint of a person possibly hunting birds within the wildlife sanctuary near Cedar Villa. CPPS attended and spoke with the subject identified in the complaint. No evidence of hunting was found.

On September 15 at approximately 4:00 p.m., DOCC dispatched a call of a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Grasswood Road and the Highway 11 southbound on-ramp between a car and a motorcycle. CPPS, Saskatoon RCMP, Medavie Health Services West, and Saskatoon Fire attended the scene. The motorcycle rider was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Saskatoon RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
