On August 29 at 1:05 a.m., on Highway 11 near Warman Road a male was found to be operating a black Dodge Charger under the influence of alcohol after registering a WRN on a roadside ASD. The driver, who did not hold a valid driver’s license and was unauthorized from driving by SGI, was subsequently issued a 72 hour day suspension and 33 day vehicle impound.
On September 1 at approximately 8:15 p.m., RCMP DOCC put out a call for service regarding a white Subaru Impreza travelling South East on Highway 16 near RR 3070. The caller estimated that the vehicle was travelling at a speed of 160 km/hr or greater. CPPS set up on Highway 16 and RR 3063 observed a white Subaru Impreza travelling SE at 185 km/hr. The driver was issued a ticket for speed, had his licence suspended for seven days and vehicle impounded for 30 days.
On August 30 at 8:04 p.m., on Highway 60 at the Pike Lake Provincial Park, a female driver was found to be operating a under the influence of cannabis after testing positive on ADSE. She held a restricted G02 driver with a DL restriction of zero tolerance for alcohol/drug consumption while operating stemming from an impaired driving conviction, was operating with four young children in the vehicle between the ages of six and 13 years old, and was subsequently issued a 60 DL suspension and seven-day vehicle impound.
On August 30 at 6:32 p.m., CPPS attempted a traffic stop on a black Hyundai for speeding on TWP 384 at RR 3051. The subject vehicle failed to stop and fled through grid roads at a high rate of speed. The vehicle continued into Martensville, driving in a manner dangerous to the public while not being pursued by police. Through investigation, a driver/suspect was identified and admitted to being the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident. CPPS issued three Summary Offense Ticket Information (SOTI’s) in relation to the incident, suspended his DL, and impounded the subject vehicle.
On August 29 at approximately 6:35 a.m., RCMP DOCC put out a call for service regarding a male that had broken into a house on Grasswood Road. CPPS attended with members of Saskatoon RCMP and North Battleford RCMP Police Dog Services and began a track, locating a suspect hidden in a hay bale storage shed. The suspect sustained injuries consistent with dog bites and was transported to Royal University Hospital to seek further medical attention. He was arrested for Break and Enter and Resist arrest and held in Saskatoon RCMP custody.
On August 27 at 8:38 p.m., on Highway 16 near TWP 374, a female was found to be operating a grey Chrysler minivan under the influence of cannabis after testing positive on ADSE. An unaccompanied learner driver, operating with five young children in the vehicle between the ages of 6 months and 12 years old, she was subsequently issued a 60 DL suspension and seven-day vehicle impound.
On August 29 at 1:05 a.m., on Highway 11 near Warman Road, a male was found to be operating a black Dodge Charger under the influence of alcohol after registering a WRN on a roadside ASD. The driver, who did not hold a valid DL and was unauthorized from driving by SGI was subsequently issued a 72-hour day suspension and 33 day vehicle impound.
On September 2 at 4:26 p.m., on Highway 16, a male was found to be operating a grey VW Rabbit under the influence of cocaine after testing positive on ADSE. Subsequently issued a 21 day DL suspension and seven-day vehicle impound as this was his second offence for operating under the influence.
On September 4 at 10:20 p.m., CPPS observed a vehicle driving north on Highway 12 near TWP 382 with no tail lights. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver displayed signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of his breath into the roadside screening device resulting in “FAIL”, was arrested, transported to Martensville RCMP where he provided two samples of his breath resulting in 140 mgs% and 130 mgs%. He was released on an Appearance Notice for court in October.
