Warman Fire Rescue (WFR) members responded to a wildfire in a field east of Warman shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3.
The fire was quickly brought under control with no damage to any equipment or structures.
The field where the fire occurred was being combined at the time.
Firefighters used a brush truck, pumper truck and water tender to extinguish the fire and prevent it from jumping from the south side to the north side of Ferry Road (Secondary Highway 784). Traffic on the heavily-travelled road was blocked for a short time by emergency equipment.
Local farmers also helped fight the fire, providing equipment and water.
The cause of the fire was not immediately identified, but dry conditions in the field combined with a light breeze from the south likely contributed to the rapid spread of the fire.
The site was cleared by 3:35 p.m.
