A report of a vehicle fire south of Pike Lake recently led to a grisly discovery by the Warman RCMP.
According to a news release sent out on October 27, the Warman RCMP responded to the report of a vehicle fire on O’Malley Road, approximately six kilometres south of Pike Lake in the RM of Montrose, at around 3:25 a.m. on October 26. The Montrose Fire Department also attended the scene.
After the fire was extinguished, human remains were located in the vehicle.
Saskatchewan RCMP investigators are now working to determine the nature of the person’s death. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is assisting with this investigation and is also working to identify the deceased’s identity.
