As Education Week begins, schools across Saskatchewan come together to recognize student success and the hard work and dedication of education professionals across the province. From teachers and educational assistants to school administrators, caretakers, school division staff and bus drivers, each person plays an important role in helping students learn, grow and thrive.

Since 1987, Education Week has featured a unique theme celebrating the diverse educational landscape. This year’s theme is “Big Skies, Bright Futures: Learning in Saskatchewan” highlighting that the sky is the limit when it comes to learning, growth and development for Saskatchewan students.

“Education is about opening doors and helping students see what is possible,” Education Minister Everett Hindley said. “During Education Week, we celebrate the incredible students and those who work behind the scenes and in our classrooms every day. Whether they are teaching a lesson, supporting a student, preparing a school for the day or safely driving children to and from school, their dedication helps create bright futures for Saskatchewan students beyond the walls of the classrooms.”

Every day, education professionals help create welcoming schools where students feel safe, supported and inspired. They encourage curiosity, build confidence and help learners discover their strengths and reach their goals.

This week also provides an opportunity to thank families, community partners and volunteers who contribute to student success and help strengthen connections between schools and communities.

Across the province, schools will mark Education Week with activities that showcase student learning, celebrate achievements and recognize the many individuals who make a difference in education.

Under Saskatchewan’s big skies, students are dreaming big, exploring new possibilities and preparing for the future. Education Week is a chance to celebrate the people who help make those bright futures possible.
