Martensville singer-songwriter Ryan Cross performed at the Trails & Melodies Showcase at Stumbletown Distilling in Saskatoon on September 16. Presented during Country Music Week, the showcase gave Cross an opportunity to share his original music with local music supporters and visitors to the city.
Cross performed a 45-minute acoustic set featuring audience favourites and several original songs, including “Prairie Town,” “Too Late for That,” “I Wouldn’t Change a Single Thing” and his debut single, “Play Me Another.”
“Having the opportunity to share my original songs during Country Music Week was something I won’t forget,” said Cross. “There were family, friends and people from back home in the room, as well as listeners hearing my music for the first time. The support and response made it a very special night.”
The performance marked another milestone for Cross following the release of “Play Me Another.” Inspired by a phrase often spoken by his late grandfather, Jim McCulloch, the song celebrates the memories and connections created through music.
Since its release, “Play Me Another” has received radio play in Canada and internationally, accumulated more than 3,000 streams and reached No. 4 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown’s weekly Top 50 chart on June 14, 2026.
Cross continues to perform throughout Saskatchewan while writing and sharing original music.
