A Martensville resident who had been incarcerated on child exploitation charges until several months ago has once again been arrested on similar charges.
The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit arrested the man following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Martensville on Thursday, September 17.
According to an ICE news release, electronic devices were examined at the residence and also seized by investigators.
Matthew Joseph Wood, 38, has been charged with two counts of child abuse and exploitation material, one count of making child abuse and exploitation available and one count of breaching an order of prohibition.
Wood had previously been arrested on various child exploitation charges by the Saskatchewan ICE Unit in January 2024. He had been incarcerated on these offences until May 2026.
Wood appeared on his most recent charges on September 18 and is being held in custody until his next court date on September 22 in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
The Saskatchewan ICE unit is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service and Saskatoon Police Service.
Its purpose is to investigate crimes involving child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
