One of the drivers in a July 29 collision between two mini-vans that left two people seriously injured has been ticketed for proceeding from a stop sign before it was safe to do so, according to the Saskatchewan RCMP.
As stated in an RCMP news release, the Warman RCMP responded to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 305 and Range Road 3050 at approximately 12:50 p.m.
The driver of one of the mini-vans was airlifted to hospital by STARS with injuries described as serious in nature, while a passenger in the same mini-van was also taken to hospital by EMS with similar injuries.
The other mini-van had six occupants, but none of them reported any major injuries to police.
A Facebook post made by the Warman Fire Rescue on July 29 indicated that two people from the second mini-van were transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A spokesperson with the Saskatchewan RCMP confirmed on August 11 that one of the drivers had been ticketed and that no fatalities had been reported as a result of this collision.
Busy summer
The Warman RCMP were also involved in responding to two other serious incidents in the last couple of weeks.
On July 31, members of the Warman detachment attended a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Highway 7 southwest of Delisle at approximately 9:50 p.m.
According to SaskToday.com, an investigation determined that the motorcycle collided with a vehicle parked at the side of the highway. The driver of the motorcycle and the driver of the parked vehicle were both taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature. The passenger of the motorcycle and the vehicle were also taken to hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening. The affected stretch of Highway 7 was closed for several hours as a result of the collision.
The Warman RCMP were also involved in responding to a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 16, approximately three kilometres northwest of Maymont, at roughly 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, August 2.
An RCMP release stated that local fire and EMS also attended the incident. The passenger of the vehicle — a 34-year-old woman from Saskatoon — was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was also transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non life-threatening in nature.
