Warman RCMP are looking for the public’s help in tracking down three suspects who did extensive damage to the washrooms in the concesssion building at Prairie Oasis Park sometime between July 18-21.
The vandalism included holes punchced in the walls and damage to the doors and fixtures.
The softball diamonds are heavily booked over the summer months, and washroom facilities are essential for tournaments and other public events.
Warman Recreation and Community Services workers put in long hours repairing the damage to ensure the washrooms remain open and accessible to the public. The repairs include the installation of heavy-duty puck-boards to replace the damaged drywall.
A post on the City of Warman social media page on Tuesday July 21 stated:
“Acts of vandalism recently took place at a Prairie Oasis Park concession bathroom in Warman (July 19-20. The incidents were captured on City surveillance cameras and have been reported to the Warman RCMP.
“We ask parents and guardians to please speak with your children and remind them of the importance of respecting public property. Repairing vandalism costs taxpayers money and diverts resources from other community priorities.
“If you have any information regarding these incidents, please contact the Warman RCMP at 306-975-1670.”
