The Central Valley Volleyball Club (CVVC) 16UM Blackouts won the bronze medal at the provincial tournament in Warman and Saskatoon May 1-3.

The team had a very consistent season leading up to provincials..

They remained in Division 1 throughout the season, finishing no lower than fifth in all Sask Cup events.

They got Bronze in the Sask Cup 3 tournament and came into provincials ranked third overall out of the 20 16U boys teams.

They were the only 16UM team to medal in both Sask Cup 3 and Provincials.

The team went 2-2 in a very competitive round of pool play during the provincial tournament. They defeated JCVC in a must-win 1/4 game  to move into the top four teams.

The semi-final was a nail-biter against the Swift Current Sundogs. CVVC won the first set, the Sundogs won the second set 26-24, and CVVC lost a close third set by a score of 15-12. The loss to Swift Current meant the Blackouts missed their opportunity to play in the gold medal game by only a few points. The Sundogs went on to win the provincial gold medal.

The bronze medal match was aginst our season rival, the Regina Summit. CVVC came out ready to play and won convincingly in two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-15.
