Saskatoon Police have laid charges against two males, ages 14 and 24, in connection to a collision that occurred in Saskatoon’s north end on Tuesday morning, May 5.
Both are charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.
The 14-year-old faces additional charges of Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm, Failure to Stop After Accident, and Evade Police.
The 24-year-old is also charged with breaching court-imposed conditions.
A third person was arrested but not charged in connection to this incident.
The 82-year-old remains in hospital.Saskatoon Police are continuing to investigate the two-vehicle collision from earlier today.
At around 8:10 a.m. on May 5, 2026, police were called to the area of Idylwyld Drive near 58th Street West after it was reported that a Dodge Durango was driving erratically. Updates from the Corman Park Police Service outlined the vehicle was travelling on Highway 11 into Saskatoon.
While responding, further updates outlined that the Durango had collided with a Ford Transit van south of the highway 16 overpass on Idylwyld Drive. The van subsequently caught fire and the driver, an 82-year-old male, was transported to hospital with critical injuries.
The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Prince Albert, SK.
The Corman Park Police Service notified the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) and SIRT will be investigating.
