The Warman Wolverines are nearing the end of their inaugural season in the Saskatchewan Junior ‘A’ Hockey League (SJHL, with only two more games left to play.
The final home game of the 2025-2026 season will take place this Friday, March 13 at the Warman Home Centre Communiplex. The Wolverines will take on the Humboldt Broncos, who are currently second in the Nutrien Division of the SJHL, starting at 7 p.m.
Besides taking in the game in-person, incidentally, fans can also watch the game on maxTV as this will be the SaskTel SJHL Game of the Month.
The final Warman Wolverines’ match will then be an away game on Saturday, March 14, at Humboldt.
With a season record of 14 wins, 34 losses, three overtime losses and three shootout losses, the Wolverines are saddly not able to advance further into the SJHL playoffs. The other team to be denied a playoff berth are the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
The top seven spots have already been claimed by the Flin Flon Bombers, Yorkon Terriers, Battlefords North Stars, Nipawin Hawks, Melfort Mustangs, Weyburn Red Wings and the Melville Millionaires.
Estevan has the best shot at clinching the eighth playoff spot with 55 points, especially if Warman hands Humboldt at least one loss this weekend.
That said, Warman is in the midst of a losing streak, as they fell 4-0 to Melville on March 3 and 5-0 to Nipawin on March 5. They also lost to Kindersley 5-1 on February 28, though they did net a 4-3 win against the Klippers on February 27.
