The Clarkboro Ferry is closed for the season.
A notice posted on the provincial Highways Ministry website on Monday, October 20, indicated the ferry, located on Township Road 390 between Warman and Aberdeen, is no longer in service.
The ferry, the busiest of the province’s 13-vessel fleet, carries over 70,000 vehicles each year.
While the South Saskatchewan River is still ice-free and the ferry would normally still be operating, it was closed early this season for maintenance of the concrete aprons at the ferry landings.
The Hague Ferry and St. Laurent Ferry are still in service as of October 20. Information on the status of provincial ferries can be found online at https://hotline.gov.sk.ca/list/pois/ferryterminals?start=0&length=25&order%5Bi%5D=1&order%5Bdir%5D=asc
