The Martensville Chiefs kicked off their season with an exciting home opener weekend that saw tremendous community support. Approximately 250 fans came out to cheer on the team, with around 80–90 people attending the pre-game tailgate at one time.

Although the Chiefs ultimately fell short against the Westleys with a 4–2 loss (including an empty net goal), the game was competitive and hard fought from start to finish.

The Chiefs bounced back in a big way on Wednesday October 1, hosting the Prince Albert Timberjaks. It was a statement win for the team, with the Chiefs cruising to a 10–1 victory.

Nine different players found the back of the net in the October 1 game, showing strong depth throughout the lineup. Chiefs Assistant Captain Jesse Borschneck led the way with an outstanding performance, notching one goal, three assists, and four points.

On Sunday, October 5, the Saskatoon Westleys returned to Martensville for a rematch of the home opener. The visitors came out on top again in this one, downing the Chiefs 5-2. Liam Dechaine and Carter Mason were the goal-scorers for the Chiefs.

TheChiefs’ next home game is Wednesday, October 8 at,8:00 p.m. at the Martensville Sports Centre  when they host the Saskatoon Royals.
