The Warman U18AAA Wildcats got their regular season off to a hot start with a pair of road wins against the host Notre Dame Hounds on Saturday, September 27 in the first game of the 2025-26 regular season.

The Wildcats beat Notre Dame 9-1 on Saturday, September 27 and 6-3 on Sunday, September 28.  The pair of wins puts the Wildcats in second place in the SMU18AAAHL  standings. The Moose Jaw Winmar Warriors are in first place with three straight wins to start the regular season.

In Saturday’s game, the Wildcats’ Hudson Sawatzky drew first blood with an assist from Tyson Janzen. The Hounds evened the score later in the opening frame when Lucas Romaniuk scored with assists from Arlo Barclay and Connor McClarty. 

But from then on it was all Warman. Nixxon Arcand-Vandale had three goals and an assist. Other Warman goal-scorers were: Tyson Janzen, Declan Borthwick, Cruz Bear, Easton Bauer, and Koston Baliski.

In Sunday’s game, Warman’s Dawson Baht opened the scoring, but Notre Dame’s Arlo Barclay and Logan Arnold gave the Hounds a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.

In the second period, Sam Failler scored a  pair of goals and Nixxon Arcand-Vandale added a single for Warman, while Mason Vermette scored for Notre Dame. Dade Wotherspoon and Declan Borthwick scored in the third period to ice the win for Warman.

The Wildcats roster includes:

*Forwards Koston Baliski, Kylan Woytiuk, Cruz Bear, Cash Arcand-Vandale, Declan Borthwick, Cruz Harrison, Dawson Baht, Sam Failler, Nixxon Arcand-Vandale, Weston Kostiuk, Dawson Gamble, Tyson Janzen, Hudson Sawatzky, Nixon Bergen, Dade Wotherspoon;

*Defencemen Wesley Black, Owen Kenke, Walker Bergen, Colton Vedress, James Norman, Sutton Scheidt,  Logan Olsen, Easton Bauer, Morgan Thompson, Kohen Oblander;

*Goaltenders Jacob Appleby, Matt Warren and Seth Gutenberg.

While the Wildcats are loaded with local talent, many other area players are on the rosters of ten of the other 11 teams in the league.

They include:

* Moose Jaw Warriors: Maclain Ethier (Warman);

* Saskatoon Blazers: Tatum Fouquette (Warman),

* Tisdale Trojans:  Camryn Aebig (Rosthern), Taran Erhardt (Warman);

* Yorkton Maulers: Kieran Sobry (Warman), Broden Wotherspoon (Martensville), Keatan Thompson (Warman), Ryland McConnell (Martensville), Austin Root (Martensville);

* Battlefords Stars: Chance Regush (Warman), Jaxon Brabant (Dalmeny);

* Notre Dame Hounds: Arlo Barclay (Warman).

The other two teams in the league are the Regina Pat Canadians and the Swift Current Legionnaires.
