The City of Warman has announced that Heather Chatfield has been named the 2024 Diamond Citizen of the Year.

This award is reserved for a true community builder, someone who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, who has donated time and skill towards the betterment of others, and who has truly made an impact for future generations.

At a presentation of the award during the Warman City Council meeting on Monday, September 8, Warman Mayor Gary Philipchuk noted that Heather wears many hats in the community.

–  She is the President of Twin City Angels Baseball.

–  She is on the Board of Directors and is the Scheduling Coordinator of the Central Valley Volleyball Club.

–  She coaches baseball and volleyball.

–  She has previously been involved in minor hockey.

–  She volunteers wherever needed in the community.

Heather has been a driving force behind the growth of softball in the community….serving as TCA President, Scheduler and taking on many other roles as needed.  She led the successful amalgamation of the Warman Minor Softball Association and the Martensville Amateur Softball Association into what is now the Twin City Softball Association, helping boost registration numbers and bringing the two communities and surrounding areas together.

Heather has dedicated countless hours into organizing major softball events, including the 2023 U15 Provincial Championship and the recent 2025 U17 National Fast Pitch Championship in Warman. Her leadership helped make these events a great experience for players and families, while also giving a nice boost to local businesses and the community.

Heather has also been involved with the Central Valley Volleyball Club for the last 5 years, both as a coach and as a member of the Board of Directors. Heather is always the first to put up her hand and take on responsibilities within the club, putting in countless hours taking care of scheduling practices for all 15 teams.  She has been an invaluable resource for the club and has been a big part of the rapid expansion of volleyball in our community.

Heather’s passion has touched the lives of many people and contributed greatly to bringing our community closer together.
