Saskatchewan RCMP officers recently seized nearly a kilogram of cocaine and half a kilogram of methamphetamine amidst other drugs and cash from a parked vehicle in Martensville on August 7.

According to an RCMP release sent out on August 19, RCMP officers with the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) located two individuals in the parked vehicle during a drug trafficking investigation into potential illicit drugs destined for the Spiritwood area.

An adult female and adult male were arrested. While searching the vehicle, officers located and seized approximately 891 grams of cocaine, 629 grams of methamphetamine, 55 grams of crack cocaine, $7,990 in cash, a conducted energy weapon (such as a stun gun), an expandable baton and other evidence of drug trafficking.

Arlene Sakebow of Saskatoon and Leon Clay of the Pelican Lake First Nation are each charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, possession of the proceeds of crime totalling over $5,000, and possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized.

Sakebow, 45, and Clay, 55, made their first appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on August 11.
