The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has a new online toolkit to help businesses support and welcome families with their child feeding choices anywhere, any time.
The toolkit, which can be accessed at https://momsandkidssask.saskhealthauthority.ca/pregnancy-birth-newborns/postnatal-newborn-care/baby-friendly-initiative, provides tips, posters and resources to help create public spaces that are welcoming for families to feed their infants and young children. It is part of a much larger baby-friendly initiative to ensure breast/chest feeding is protected, promoted and supported.
“We want families to feel empowered in continuing to breast/chest feed in the community,” said public health nutritionist Andrea Toogood, one of many who worked on the toolkit.
“Breastfeeding is a human right. It’s important that businesses feel confident in supporting families to feed their child in any way that works for them.”
