Twin City Angels (TCA) girls softball teams picked up two more provincial medals last weekend.
The TCA squad won silver in the U15B North provincial tournament in Unity July 11-13. They lost 9-2 in the championship final game to the gold-medal-winning Melfort Spirit.
The U15B team won their opening game 15-5 over the Saskatoon Phantoms, but lost their second game in the round robin 10-1 to the Unity Panthers. They went on to win the next three games (14-2 over the Prince Albert Aces, 10-9 over the Battleford Bandits, and 12-5 over the Unity Panthers) to qualify for the championship final. The Macklin Lakers won the bronze medal.
The other team to make the medal podium was the U13B Twin City Angels Riot. They won the bronze medal in the U13B North tournament hosted by Meadow Lake July 11-13.
Despite losing their opening two games (17-11 to the Maidstone Lakers and 8-6 to the Watrous Royals), they bounced back with a 12-2 win over the Saskatoon Raiders Rage before losing their fourth game 12-6 to the Meadow Lake Sox. Still, they qualified for the bronze medal game and came through in the clutch, downing the Prince Albert Aces 12-5 in the final.
The Maidstone Lakers won the gold and the Meadow Lake Sox took the silver in that tournament.
