An inmate from the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre who escaped near Warman has now been arrested.

According to a release, Michael Landry was part of a crew doing work in the area of Highway 11 north of Saskatoon when he stole a van and fled in it at approximately 1:20 p.m. on July 8.

On July 10, the Saskatoon Police Service arrested Landry without incident in the 900 block of 22nd Street West in Saskatoon. The stolen passenger van was also recovered.

The RCMP charged Landry with one count of escaping lawful custody under Section 145 (1) of the Criminal Code and one count of theft of a vehicle under Section 333.1 (1) of the Criminal Code.

He was set to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on July 11.
