Three elite athletes from Martensville will be representing their country at the 2025 Men’s World Juniors Ball Hockey Championships in Hradec Kralove, Czechia later this month.

Calder Hamilton and Dade Wotherspoon, who played for the Warman U18AAA Wildcats during the 2024-25 season, are on the Team Canada U16 Men’s Ball Hockey roster. They’re joined by Blake Chorney, who played for the Saskatoon U18AAA Blazers last season. All three players were drafted by Western Hockey League teams.

Their hockey skills on the ice will stand them in good stead when Team Canada takes to the court June 25-29 in Czechia to defend its U16 Men’s world championship crown. Canada won the International Street and Ball Hockey Federation championship last year in Czechia.

It’s not the first time area athletes have worn the Maple Leaf at international ball hockey championships. Last year,  Warman’s Trey Markus and Austin Pacik were key players with the Team Canada U18 Men’s squad which won a gold medal at the world championship in Slovakia.
