The Martensville Fire Department will be hosting the Saskatchewan Regional FireFit Championships, which will run in conjunction with the City of Martensville’s 40th Annual Buster Days celebration.

This nationally recognized competition has drawn firefighting teams from across Canada to Martensville, where they will showcase their skills and athleticism to the public by completing timed tasks commonly performed in emergency situations.

The six firefighting tasks featured in the FireFit Championships are: Tower Climb, Hose Pack Carry, Hose Hoist, Forcible Entry, Hose Advance, and Victim Rescue.

The event runs Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm  at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion, 200 Mike Sands Boulevard in Martensville.

The FireFit Championships promote the firefighting profession through friendly competition and to highlight the dedicated people who protect life, property and the environment from the devastation of fire.
