Young athletes had a chance to sharpen their softball skills under the instruction of one of the best coaches in the game on Saturday, April 12. 

Kalen Kovitch, former coach of Softball Canada’s Junior and Senior Men’s National teams and Team Saskatchewan Men’s Softball at the 2017 Canada Summer Games. 

After three years away from coaching, he started to get back into it this spring by offering softball skills camps. 

The camps were open to U11-U13-U15 age categories with registrations from 25 athletes per age category.

Fielding camp on April 12 was focused on infield and outfield skills as well as defensive strategies. 

A second camp will be over two days on May 4 and 5 focusing on hitting, with emphasis on power and approach.

Both camps are at the Martensville Recreation Centre.
