Teams in our region are fired up to begin their quest for a provincial title.
Starting in U13 D provincials, the Aberdeen Flames and Muenster battled it out in an east-central matchup, with Muenster taking game one 7-1. Aberdeen rebounded to win game two 3-2, setting up a deciding 10 minute mini-game that saw the hometown Muenster squad advance with a 1-0 win.
Meanwhile Clavet advanced with dominant 12-0, 11-2 wins over Naicam. Clavet will play Muenster in Lake Lenore in game one of their next round with Muenster returning to Clavet February 17 for game two.
Delisle is set to begin provincial play travelling to Watson on February 9 and hosting game two in Delisle on February 16.
Looking at U13 C provincials, Langham faced off against Hudson Bay, losing 4-12 at home and battled hard in a 3-5 loss on their trip to the north-east.
In U13B play Hague knocked off Nipawin 8-1, 13-1 to advance to round two where they travelled to Humboldt on February 6, losing the opening game 8-5. They host Humboldt on February 12.
U13A play is scheduled to begin later in the month. Warman will play in Swift Current February 24 and host game two March 1. Martensville will host Battleford on February 23 and travel to Battleford March 1.
Shifting gears to U15 D provincials, Clavet is up against Dodsland in round one. Clavet won game one 10-6 on February 7 in Dodsland, with game two back in Clavet February 16.
In U15 B provincials, Hague beat Kindersley 8-1 in game one during the first round in Kindersley February 8, with game two in Hague February 15.
U15A play will see the Warman-Martensville rivalry amp up with game one in Martensville February 25 and game two in Warman March 1.
Delisle travels to Battlefords February 19 and hosts game two February 28 in the other region matchup.
Looking at U18D, Delisle defeated Eston 2-1 in a close, hard-fought U18D game. The two teams battled it out in Delisle on February 9, with Eston edging Delisle 6-5 to set up a third and deciding mini-game, which Eston won 2-0.
In U18C action Clavet is set to travel to Turtleford on February 11, and will host game two February 16.
Waldheim advanced to round two of the U18B playdowns, rebounding from a 4-5 loss in Kindersley with a 5-3 win in game two, and to the delight of the home crowd took the deciding mini-game 2-0. They will host Unity on February 14 and travel to Unity on February 16 for game two in the next round.
U18A saw Martensville host Meadow Lake on February 8. The visitors won that game 7-4. The Marauders travelled to Meadow Lake for game two on February 9, where Meadow Lake again prevailed, this time by a score of 8-2.
Warman host Carrot River on February 8, losing 8-2. Game two is scheduled for Carrot River on February 10.
In Senior D action Delisle beat Perdue 10-2 in game one in Delisle on February 8. Game two is in Perdue on February 14. If a game three is necessary it will be played in Perdue.
