Four former Warman Wildcats were among the players named when the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) announced rosters that will represent the league at the 2025 SJHL/MJHL Showcase, which will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, from January 27 to 29, 2025.
The joint Showcase will feature the top 60 players in the MJHL and in the SJHL. Each league will have three teams. One team will be composed of players who are 18 and under and two teams will be made up of players who are 20 and under. Each team will play two games during the high-performance event.
Defenseman Jaxon Herchak (Kindersley Klippers) will be on the SJHL U18 Team Blue. Forward Mason Bueckert (Kindersley Klippers) will suit up for SJHL U20 Team Gold while defenceman Tre Fouquette (Humboldt Broncos) and forward Dustin Renas (Yorkton Terriers) will play on SJHL U20 Team White.
This is the sixth SJMJ Showcase, the first of which took place in Regina in 2018. The SJHL has a 20-9-1 record over that span.
“The MJSJ Showcase is one of the premier events of our season,” said SJHL Commissioner Kyle McIntyre. “It is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the best 20U and 18U players in the SJHL. As always, we expect a fast and physical game each time out, and this is a rivalry and a series where both leagues and our players come to play every game!”
