By CHIEF RON CHOMYN, Corman Park Police Service

Corman Park Police Service will be conducting multiple impaired driving check stops throughout the holiday season.

Injuries and deaths resulting from impaired driving are 100% preventable.

Please plan a safe ride home through friends, taxis, ride shares, public transit and by walking.

“Our message has always been the same. I can assure you that officers throughout the RM of Corman Park will be actively searching for and being aware of potential impaired drivers.

Penalties for impaired driving range from a three day to a 120-day immediate driving prohibition, vehicle impoundments, fines and potential charges under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Driving impaired is a crime. And it’s dangerous. Impaired driving is still responsible for more deaths on Saskatchewan roads than any other factor. Just don’t do it…. make the right choice.

CPPS observed a white Dodge Caravan stopped on Highway 16 near Borden Bridge. The driver provided a statement confirming that the female that police had in custody was the driver and only person in the SUV when it came to a stop.
