Two candidates are vying to represent Catholic ratepayers in Martensville, Warman and the rural area around those cities on the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools (GSCS) board of trustees.
Incumbent GSCS Subdivision 1 trustee Wayne Stus is facing an electoral challenge from Michael Raney. The election is slated for November 13.

Stus has served on the GSCS board for several years. He played a key role in the development of Rural Catholic School Board divisions, and also served during construction of the Catholic elementary schools in both Martensville and Warman. He is a parishioner at the Cathedral of the Holy Family and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is married and has four adult children and nine grandchildren. He has a background in construction.
Raney currently serves as Director of Music at St. Paul’s Co-Cathedral. He is married and has four children.
Raney has a background in construction project planning and supervision. He serves on the Knights of Columbus Council and also on the board of the George Mackie Foundation, whose mandate is to provide support for youth activities and education in Saskatchewan.
