Two Twin City Angels (TCA) U17 teams captured provincial championships earlier this month.
Both the U17A and U17B Twin City Angels are Provincial Champions. The teams competed at separate tournaments in Regina July 12-14.
The U17A TCA competed in the Blue Pool in round robin play.
In their first game, they defeated the Parkland Predators 10-0. Their second game was a l2-1 loss to the Lumsden Cubs; but they bounced back from that defeat with two straight wins: a 3-0 victory over the Saskatoon Selects in their third game and a 10-0 spanking of the Southeast SUn Devils in their fourth game.
The top two teams in each pool advanced to the Championship round.
The TCA squad defeated Lakeland Blaze 6-2 in the quarter final, and advanced to the championship game with a 12-3 win over the Regina Royals in the semi-final. They captured the gold medal with a decisive 15-2 victory over the Selects Blue.
The U17B Twin City Angels were in the Green Pool in round robin play.
In their first game, they defeated the Regina Royals Rednecks 14-7.
Their second game was a 22-16 loss to the Saskatoon Selects Pumas. In their third game, they defeated the South Central Venom 13-3; and their fourth game was a decisive 16-3 win over the White Butte Storm.
The top two teams in each pool advanced to the Championship round.
The Angels defeated Unity Panthers 8-4 in the quarter final, beat Swift Current Sonic 13-10 in the semifinal, and defeated South Central Venom 11-4 in the championship game.
