Two men were arrested and charged with weapons offences during a traffic stop in Kensaton last week.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., on May 6, Saskatoon RCMP determined an occupant in the vehicle was wanted on warrant by Corrections Services Canada for being unlawfully at large. He also provided a false name to officers.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatoon Warrant Enforcement Suppression Team (WEST) was engaged to assist. Two adult males were arrested at the scene.
During subsequent investigation, officers located and seized a sawed-off shotgun, a knife, and a baseball bat in the vehicle.
32-year-old Keli Stonechild from Regina was arrested on warrant and is charged with one count, resist/obstruct peace officer, Section 129(a), Criminal Code and one count, possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(1)(a), Criminal Code.
31-year-old Angus Fox from Regina is charged with two counts, resist/obstruct peace officer, Section 129(a), Criminal Code and one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; Section 88(2), Criminal Code.
